Votaw

Writing Faculty

With over 20 years of experience as a ghostwriter, author, editor, and book coach, Melanie Votaw brings her inquisitive, thoughtful, and nurturing spirit to every writing project. She has written 43 nonfiction books—eleven under her own name and the rest as a ghostwriter—for publishers like Macmillan, Little Brown, New World Library, Hay House, and others. The books she’s worked on have won more than 50 awards, and four have been on The New York Times Best Seller List.

‍

A prolific writer, Melanie has written articles featured in prominent publications like Time Magazine, Business Insider, and Psychology Today. She enjoys working with soon-to-be authors as they structure, write, and finish their books—helping them stay motivated from the first page to the last. When she’s not writing, you might find Melanie bird watching in a foreign country, taking award-winning travel photos, or singing and performing in solo cabaret acts in New York City.
