We are seeking a Sales Intern with the right experience and temperament to engage with our clients, follow up on new leads, and play an important, hands-on role in Heroic Public Speaking’s sales process.

The Sales Intern reports to the Sales Director, and will have the opportunity to learn about many aspects of our business and industry, gaining crucial knowledge and insight that can help propel you forward in your career. During your time with Heroic Public Speaking, you will be steeped in many different aspects of the sales process and much more, including event production, social and referral marketing, course programming, and more.

At Heroic Public Speaking, we invest in our team and develop our people. During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to sharpen your presentation and public speaking skills—skills that will further you in your career, long after the end of your internship. Strong presentation skills can be a significant asset when interviewing, pitching, or promoting new ideas or products, and you will have the opportunity to develop yours during your internship with us.

This is a hybrid role. The Sales Intern should expect to work at Heroic Public Speaking HQ in Lambertville, NJ, at least once a week for client event days and other required in-person days as assigned. All other days will be remote.

For the right candidate, there is the possibility of a full-time position at the end of the summer. This is an opportunity for you to get a close, inside look at a thriving business, learn what we do well, and potentially join our team on a permanent basis in an essential role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Engage with potential clients.
  • Document the sales training process.
  • Field incoming sales inquiries.
  • Follow up on qualified leads.
  • Prospect, qualify, strategize, and close new client scopes of work/contracts.
  • Consult past clients and identify lost client issues.
  • Log sales calls and notes in HubSpot, Heroic Public Speaking’s CRM.
  • Interact and develop relationships with both leads and clients.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree, Graduate degree, or at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Available to work the assigned days at Heroic Public Speaking HQ in Lambertville, NJ.
  • An energetic and enthusiastic personality is essential.
  • Must be able to convey written and verbal information effectively to clients and coworkers.
  • Must possess a service orientation; always actively looking for ways to help others.
  • Self-starter, capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with public speaking is a big plus.
  • Previous experience in a sales or education environment is preferred, but not required.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

This is a full-time internship that runs from June 1 - September 1, 2023. Salary for this position is $25/hour, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate starting in the fall.

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL

This is a hybrid position. The Sales Intern can expect to be at Heroic Public Speaking HQ in Lambertville at least once a week, attending client events, working with our team, or completing other in-person responsibilities. All other days are remote.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

This position has the potential for a full-time position in the fall, and so we are looking for a recent graduate to fill this role. That said, we are open to applicants of all backgrounds and experiences; where you went to school or what level of education you’ve achieved is not the first thing we consider when reviewing applications.
