ABOUT THIS ROLE
We Need a Production/Event Coordinator
Heroic Public Speaking is searching for a Production/Event Coordinator who can offer reliable support to our Director of Student Experience and our Dean of Students. The person in this role contributes to the success of our event planning and video production projects as well as logistics for our online programs.
**Please note that our students are successful adults, and include (but aren’t limited to): company founders and CEOs, small business owners, navy seals, FBI agents, politicians (the nice ones), Olympians, and even an Astronaut here and there. We call them students because that’s what they are at HPS. They may be accomplished in their given field but they train with us to become better performers on stage and off.

About The Kind of Person We Think is Right for This Position
You get a thrill out of making people feel important and cared for. You’re a collaborative worker with a keen eye for detail; you notice when a painting is crooked or chairs are out of alignment―and you’ll do something about it. Here, at Heroic Public Speaking, you will use (and develop) your skills to provide our students with a seamless transition between onboarding, online courses, as well as create magical events at our 10,000 square-foot headquarters. Your overall goal is to ensure that students receive first-class attention, and accumulate world-class experiences throughout their tenure at HPS.
Some of Your Specific Contributions:
- Collaborate with Student Experience Team to setup for HQ events.
- Order, receive, and organize program/event supplies.
- Arrange various event logistics, such as catering, spatial arrangements, and classroom collateral.
- Coordinate logistics for our guest faculty and coaches during events. Logistics include: confirmation of teaching times, preparation of materials, etc.
- Work with Student Experience Team and faculty during event days to ensure the event runs seamlessly.
- Partner with Director of Student Experience and the Dean of Students to find new and improved ways to run events and programs.
- Schedule, setup, and manage the webinar platform for program webinars/live streams from HPS HQ.
- Create materials for online Livestreams (student-facing and internal).
- Enroll students in our online learning platforms.
- Update student records in the appropriate system.
- Aid with the creation of forms and surveys geared toward better understanding the student experience.
- Troubleshoot/solve tech issues for students.
- Aid with the creation of online course content/materials; this may include post-event summaries.
- Assist Dean of Students in responding to student logistics questions via email, our help desk, and community platforms.
- Serve as a representative of HPS in our online community, posting reminders and assisting in answering questions quickly and comprehensively.
The roles and responsibilities of the Production/Event Coordinator will be reviewed semi-annually to ensure a positive student experience and engagement in all HPS programs and events.

YOU NEED TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY
We’re a company that embraces technology so you must be comfortable learning and using modern processing and communication applications like Google Suite and Slack. We also use the following programs: Workboard for goal setting, tracking, and project management; Airtable for data management; WayWeDo for documented checklists and standard operating procedures; 1Password for, you guessed it, password management; and Infusionsoft for customer relationship management and payment processing. If you haven't used some of these platforms, don't let that discourage you if you are nimble with learning new platforms. Our savvy team members were able to pick these up right away.
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT/BENEFITS
This role is a full-time position. The company currently offers enrollment in a Platinum health insurance plan through United Healthcare and pays 50% of the premiums for you and your dependants if you choose to enroll.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary for this position is in the range of $45,000 to $55,000. Compensation packages are revisited annually at the end of the calendar year and raises are commensurate with the impact you make on the growth of the company.
All new employees start with a three month “trial period.” This gives us the ability to train you well and ensure you’re set up for success. It also gives us the opportunity to experience your work in real time and evaluate accordingly. Moreover, it gives you the opportunity to make sure that HPS is the right environment for you.
We’re not looking to hire people who just punch a clock. We care deeply about the development of all employees and love providing mentorship to talented and aspirational people who are fully committed to the mission of HPS.
The company currently offers a device allowance plan and a very generous retirement plan in the form of a Defined Benefit Plan and contributes pre-tax dollars equal to at least 6.5% of your salary each year for full time employees that qualify for the plan. There is also a 401K plan to which you can choose to contribute if you’d like. Your contributions to the 401K can be in the form of a post-tax ROTH 401K or pre-tax Traditional 401K.
HPS full-time employees are provided with 4 weeks (20 days) of paid vacation time per calendar year. If an employee starts after January 1 of the current calendar year, they will be provided with a prorated amount of days based on the number of weeks they will work in that calendar year. On January 1 of each year, employees will reset with 20 days for the upcoming calendar year.
Holidays are updated and approved on December 1 of each year for the upcoming calendar year. These are the official days that the office is closed and employees will be paid their regular rate.

There are no travel requirements associated with this position; however HPS does offer employees the opportunity to attend professional development conferences relevant to their position and growth (paid for by the company).
