What We’ve Built

Heroic Public Speaking is considered by many to be the preeminent keynote Speaker training company in the world. We're a small company with headquarters in Lambertville, NJ, and were founded by a husband and wife team.

Who We Hire

It's easy to say we care … but we really do. We know that no one is perfect and that non-traditional hires are often the best hires. In fact, most of the people working at Heroic Public Speaking, including the founders, currently do something different than they did in their previous jobs or what they were originally trained to do. We’ve got some goals and we need your help. They’re achievable and, since you love a good challenge, you’ll be over the moon when we achieve them together. We know it matters to you that a strong and supportive team has your back. (It also helps that our services really are that good, and people really do rave about them.)

You’ll work closely with the Heroic Public Speaking Marketing Collective, where your ideas will be heard and propelled forward…all right, who are we kidding? There’s no “Marketing Collective.” It’s you. You’re the marketing team—but, you’ll have about eight other teammates who will support and collaborate with you everyday. They’ll celebrate your wins, and help lift you up when you need it. And if and when it becomes necessary to build out the Marketing Collective, we’ll do so.

But, in the meantime, we’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator who’s both an ideas person AND an executor. If you’re one of the few people who can do both very well, we can promise you’ll jump to the head of the interview line. (And there will be a line. There always is when Heroic Public Speaking goes on a journey to find our next great collaborator, catalyst, and friend.)

We’ll set clear expectations and specific goals. You’ll kickoff and bring home campaigns and programs to hit those goals. We’ll support, advise, nurture, encourage, and inspire you along the way.

Objectives will include, but are not limited to, growing the number of people who attend our events, visit our website, subscribe to our podcast, and follow us on social media. You’ll be asked to increase engagement and growth in our online community, dream up (and execute) new ways to make our platforms more valuable, and create impactful lead magnets that create more demand for our programs, just to name a few of the specifics.

You’ll also be responsible for maintaining, moderating, and building our social media platforms, including directly supporting group members, coordinating digital actions, and corresponding in our brand voice on a daily basis. Our social media channels are filled with opportunity (which loosely translates to “need work”). We do have a strong following, but we need you to help us kick it into high gear.

You know how to do all of this. Or maybe you don’t. Either way is fine. We do not expect you to know how to do all the things we want you to do from the get-go. We’re a learning organization, so our most effective and successful team members are the ones most committed to learning and growing, the ones who are comfortable saying, “I don’t know, but I’ll learn how.”

Don’t get us wrong. Although we like to learn quickly and hate wasting time, we also take plenty of time off to travel or chill. We’re only at our headquarters in Lambertville, NJ for client events or the occasional team meetings. The rest of the time we work from our respective homes and do the Zoom.


  • Collaborate with sales and product development team members to plan promotional marketing campaigns.
  • Create editorial and content creation calendars for various media platforms and outlets.
  • Create content for our social media accounts and post across channels.
  • Capture and leverage written and video content from events for use in social and marketing campaigns.
  • Drive more listeners to our podcast, Steal the Show with Michael Port.
  • Improve conversions and the way we communicate with visitors to our websites, ensuring the design team keeps pages updated and inline with our brand and any company changes.
  • Capture, manage, and analyze important metrics including but not limited to, web traffic data, client engagement metrics, and Net Promoter Score.
  • Gather testimonials from students and fans for sharing through our various channels.
  • Design, track, and measure successful email marketing campaigns.


We don’t really care where you went to school or what level of education you’ve achieved. We care about who you are and how you show up in the world now. We have an intelligent and sophisticated group of people working together who share values.


Most of these are pretty obvious but still pretty important.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; you enjoy engaging with and influencing others.
  • Accountability.
  • Willingness to take well-informed risks, not shy away from them.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet a deadline while maintaining an emphasis on detail and excellent follow-through.
  • Comfort with taking direction and responding to feedback well while also having the confidence to improve company processes.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in support of other teammates, as well as work independently.
  • An appreciation for drama on the stage or TV but a preference to avoid it on a day-to-day basis.
  • A high degree of emotional intelligence and presence of mind is an absolute.


We’re a company that values and embraces technology; you must be comfortable learning and using modern processing and communication applications, like Google Suite and Slack.

We also use the following programs: ZenDesk, ClickUp, Airtable, 1Password, and KEAP.

If you haven't used some of these platforms, don't let that discourage you. Our savvy team members were able to pick these platforms up right away with the proper training.


Salary for this position is in the range of $60,000 to $75,000, depending on experience level, plus health and retirement benefits that increase your total compensation package by about 10%. Compensation packages are revisited annually at the end of the calendar year.


  • 4 weeks PTO (+ official holidays). We love and respect brain breaks.

Sometimes you’ll work from home or your favorite coffee shop, and sometimes you’ll work at Heroic Public Speaking HQ in Lambertville, NJ.

You won’t be expected to travel out of state but opportunities may present themselves from time to time for various reasons – a conference, business development meeting, training.
