Michael Port

Michael Port has written six books, including Book Yourself Solid and Steal the Show, the latter which—according to the former President of Starbucks—“might be the most unique and practical book ever written on the topic of public speaking.”

He's been called an “uncommonly honest author" by the Boston Globe, a "marketing guru" by The Wall Street Journal, a “sales guru” by the Financial Times, “a public speaking phenom” by Jonathan Fields and “the best public speaking coach in the world” by Lewis Howes. The founder of MastermindTalks, Jayson Gaignard, declared, "Michael Port is the best speaker I've ever seen."

His books have been on the bestseller lists of the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Publisher's Weekly and have been selected by Amazon and 800-CEO-READ as "best books of the year."

He was once a professional actor, having received his MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program, guest starring on shows like Sex & The City and Law & Order, and in films like The Pelican Brief and Down to Earth. Amy Port is the Co-Founder and President of Heroic Public Speaking; her work extends from the execution of corporate training packages, to development of CEO keynotes, private master classes and coaching.

After earning her MFA in Acting from The Yale School of Drama, Amy spent years acting professionally in theaters such as Seattle Repertory, Oregon Shakespeare and Yale Rep, and working consistently in commercials. She now applies the skills of performance that only well-trained actors know to the coaching of ‘non-actors’ looking to crush their sales presentations, to make their voices heard in TED Talk style presentations, and to take the big stage keynoting major conferences.

He is founder and CEO of The Tite Group, Executive Producer & Host of the Canadian Comedy Award-winning show Monkey Toast, and Publisher of the award winning and best selling humour book, “This is That Travel Guide to Canada” with CBC Radio’s hit show, “This is That”.

He has written for a number of other television series, penned a children’s book, and wrote, performed, and produced the play, The Canadian Baby Bonus. In demand as a speaker on innovation, branding, content marketing, and his own take on modern business, “The Expression Economy”, Ron has spoken to leading organizations all over the world.

D’Arcy Webb

D’Arcy Webb – a.k.a the Speech Diva – is the Head of Voice Training for Heroic Public Speaking Worldwide. Arrive at 7:15 - 7:30 for REGISTRATION. Those early to sign in get the best seats in the theater, and you’ll want to sit as close to the stage as possible. After all, the first few rows are reserved for VIP seating, so general attendees clamor to get up close & personal.

    Before our first session, you’ll be treated to some group VOICE COACHING from D’Arcy Webb, our Head of Voice Training. D’Arcy teaches people how to speak with command so that audiences will pay attention to your message. After all, you have a story to tell, and D’Arcy will help you be heard.

  • FROM THE STAGE TO THE PAGE

    HPS Senior Performance faculty member Mike Ganino brings his experience from some of the top improv stages across the US to help you rethink your idea of “winging” your performance. Learn how to create content on your feet--this is especially good if you feel bogged down staring at a laptop screen, hoping for brilliance to come through.

  • HOW TO SOURCE AND TELL STORIES THAT MAKE AUDIENCE LAUGH (OR CRY)

    No matter what your message is, you will need a range of emotions to engage your audience. Learn how to pick stories that are appropriate for your message so that you have a balance of material that’ll keep your audience engaged throughout your performances.

    There will be lunch and a couple of breaks in between that. After we’re done, we’ll gather back together to see...

  • CRAFTING CAPTIVATING CONTENT FOR THE STAGE

    Learn the science behind the Heroic Public Speaking content creation model, so that you have a surefire way of culling through and structuring your speech in a way that is compelling and action-driven.

  • TELLING A FUNNY STORY

    A successful performance is always achieved through effective rehearsal. Talent can only get you so far; here you learn the tools to backup your talent. Let’s face it: if you don’t know how to rehearse, you’ll have to live with that nagging thought: I know could have done so much better.

  • CONTEXTUAL MODELING

    Stephen Covey had the Four Quadrants. Simon Sinek has circles inside of circles. Maslow has the Hierarchy of Needs (in fact, the model is so synonymous with Maslow that it’s consistently referred to as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs). Want to hit the big time? Refund requests must contain the email address used to purchase the registration and your physical billing address, and must be submitted via email to questions@heroicpublicspeaking.com.

Refund requests received between May 14th, 2018 and August 1, 2018 will receive a 50% refund, as long as the procedure outlined above is followed. Request for refunds received after August 1, 2018 cannot be provided. Requests for transfers and/or name changes on tickets are available until September 1, 2018 to the event. After September 1, 2018, no further transfers and/or name changes are possible.

Refunds are generally sent within two to four weeks. In the event of an unavoidable cancellation due to an Act of God or other intervening circumstance, no refunds will be issued. Existing registrations will be honored when the event is rescheduled.
